A night workspace: a laptop seen from behind with a soft purple glow, a face-down phone, a closed notebook, and a cup.

The ad platforms will draft the campaign. You still approve it.

On 5 and 6 October 2026 TikTok and Meta put campaign drafts, creative choice, and optimization inside assistants. Google Ads still wants the brief in your own words, and its new Search report is not live yet.

During Advertising Week New York, TikTok on 5 October 2026 and Meta on 6 October 2026 moved campaign planning, creative selection, and optimization into assistants inside the ad account. Google's latest Search note is from 23 September: a brief you write in your own words, in a closed beta that does not list Indonesian, plus a journey report that is not available yet. On all three, the advertiser still approves what goes live.

What did Meta open inside Ads Manager on 6 October?

Meta's post that day is Advertising Week New York 2026: New AI Capabilities to Guide Campaigns and Reach Customers. The line that changes a media plan is the Meta AI business assistant inside Ads Manager. Meta says it gives marketers tailored help as they plan, set up, optimize, and measure. Meta also says advertisers who adopt its recommendations are typically seeing 5% more conversions at the same cost per conversion. That figure is Meta's, not an audit of one Jakarta account.

Ads Creative Studio, introduced in the summer, is beginning to roll out to more advertisers. Meta says it shows what is working and why. This week those creative insights also sit inside the assistant. The assistant is getting a longer memory of the account: last quarter, seasonality, and goals you have already described. Importing strategy, voice, and brand guidelines from other SI tools is a test, not a switch you can assume is on.

What is live, and what is still a test?

Customer Lifecycle Strategy is open to all advertisers. On an acquisition campaign, Meta says the account receives recommendations about excluding existing customers. A single Audience Label that excludes a whole group of those customers is still a test. AI-enabled audience discovery is not in Detailed Targeting yet. A marketer will describe an ideal customer in plain language, Ads Manager will surface audiences, and the marketer keeps only the ones they want. Meta dates that to the end of the year.

Planning a campaign, writing imagery and text, updating targeting, or changing a budget in a conversation is also a test. Meta says it is beginning to test those steps, and that soon you will be able to do them. Previews, approvals, and controls decide what you hand off. Scheduled tasks for performance checks, weekly summaries, and budget reminders sit in the same test.

What the post calls generally available is creative, not bidding. In Advantage+ creative, advertisers can generate video from an existing static asset. Meta says more than 60% of time spent on Facebook and Instagram is with video. That 60% is Meta's measure of attention, not a conversion rate.

The Meta ads MCP is for a team that already works in another SI tool. An agent-staged change lands as a draft in Ads Manager. Every action sits behind advertiser-set permissions and an explicit approval before anything goes live. A draft is not a live ad. Checkout inside a chat is a separate test and does not change a bid.

What did TikTok hand to Smart+ on 5 October?

TikTok's note the day before is TikTok Unveils AI-Powered Updates for Advertisers.

Search Ads Campaign, powered by Smart+, automates keywords and creative, and TikTok also names bidding and search budget management. The post does not say you stop choosing a budget. Smart+ Creative Selection puts your own assets, Symphony's AI creatives, and creator content in one approval workflow. TikTok says you keep full control of what goes live. A recommendation is not a publish.

GMV Max already automates Shop campaign creation and pushes spend toward content that is performing. It will factor in affiliate commissions, coupons, and referral fees so the target sits closer to a real return. The verb is future. Until that line is on, an ROI goal that ignores those costs is not the profit number.

Buy Direct, the Shopping Assistant, and Agentic Leads are checkout and lead capture, not the Smart+ bidding change. Partners named for that commerce work include Salesforce, Shopify, Shoplazza, and Stripe. The TikTok Ad Network is for US advertisers, across nearly 400,000 apps, with brand-safety and placement controls in Ads Manager. That sentence is not availability outside the United States. TikTok says use of its Business MCP for activation and management rose more than 200% from July to September 2026, citing its own data. The post does not say an MCP action waits for the explicit approval Meta describes.

What is actually live in Google Ads?

Google did not publish an Advertising Week optimization post this week. The latest official note is 23 September 2026, We're bringing AI Brief to more languages and adding a new AI Max reporting feature. AI Brief, still a closed beta, now includes Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish. You use it to guide AI Max in your own words, with context on the business, the audience, and the key message. Indonesian is not on that list. A brief written only in Bahasa Indonesia is not what this beta says it accepts.

The second item is a reporting view: the search term that triggered the ad, the creative assets the person saw, and the landing page they reached. Google says it will share additional details and availability later this year. Do not brief a client as if that screen is in the account today.

The calendar constraint is an older post, updated on 11 June 2026: We're upgrading Dynamic Search Ads to AI Max. The June note moves the Dynamic Search Ads sunset and auto-upgrade to February 2027. Automatically created assets and campaign-level broad match still auto-upgrade starting September 2026. If those two settings are on, September 2026 is the window Google named. Dynamic Search Ads are not on that clock. The post does not say every eligible campaign has finished the move.

The performance line on that page is narrow. AI Max sees an average of 7% more conversions or conversion value at a similar CPA or ROAS when search term matching, text customization, and final URL expansion are all on, compared with search term matching alone. The footnote says Google internal data, 2026, for non-retail advertisers. It is not a promise for a retail shop, and it is not a promise for a partial setup. The controls Google names are brand, location, and text guidelines.

What should a buyer in Southeast Asia check before turning any of this on?

A test, a US advertiser list, an end-of-year audience tool, and a report due later this year are not switches in a Jakarta, Manila, or Bangkok account this week.

On Meta, use what the 6 October post says is open: Creative Studio as it rolls out, lifecycle recommendations on an acquisition campaign, and video from a static asset in Advantage+ creative. Leave conversational budget changes, scheduled alerts, and plain-language audience discovery off the plan until Meta says they have left testing. If an agent writes through the ads MCP, the change should arrive as a draft. Read it. Meta says nothing goes live without the approval you set.

On TikTok, the optimization lever is Smart+ on search, the creative-approval workflow, and the coming cost inputs inside GMV Max. Approve the group before it spends. Do not plan reach off TikTok from the Ad Network sentence unless the account is a US advertiser. Buy Direct is not a bidding feature.

On Google Ads, check whether automatically created assets or campaign-level broad match are still on. Those are the settings Google said would move to AI Max from September 2026. Dynamic Search Ads wait until the February 2027 window in the June note. Write an AI Brief in a language on the 23 September list. Bahasa Indonesia is not one of them. Do not sell the search-journey report until Google publishes availability.

The assistant can draft the next audience, asset, and bid. The live switch stays with the person who pays the invoice.
